“Healthified” Jamba Juice Peanut Butter Moo’d Smoothie

Here’s another smoothie for you all.

Oh the possibilities.
Oh the possibilities.

So if you know me well, you know two undeniable truths about me: I hate bananas and I love peanut butter.

On bananas: I’ve been looking up various smoothie recipes lately, and I got a bit disheartened/annoyed because so many of them have bananas in them. What is a banana hater like me to do? I Googled banana substitutes, and came across natural oats or even avocados. I’ve used oats in my smoothie for more texture and it wasn’t bad. But it wasn’t great. Perhaps avocados will fair better? We’ll see!

On peanut butter: I LOVE peanut butter. From my super chubby days of chowing down on Reese’s, Butterfingers, etc. Mmmm. PB is just my favorite. Therefore, I naturally came to love Jamba Juice’s Peanut Butter Moo’d smoothie. This also happened to be one of the highest calorie smoothies they had, but I didn’t care. Sidenote: during my senior year of high school, my economics teacher make us think of a company we had an affinity for and a product of that company’s that we loved. Our assignment was to write to the said company and simply thank them for their great product and say why we loved it. I picked Jamba Juice and I gushed about this smoothie. In return, they gave me a couple free smoothies by way of a gift card and a coupon or two. I was so hype. Yes, that’s how deep my love was.

Fast forward to now: I haven’t had this smoothie in years. These days, I’m a Strawberry Surf Rider fiend. I don’t even know if Peanut Butter Moo’d is still on the menu. Even though I haven’t had this smoothie in so long, the fond memories are still there. I decided to create a healthier version of it that does not disappoint and there’s lots of protein in it. Can we say post-workout shake? 🙂

Jamba’s Version

(Ironically, Peanut Butter Moo’d has bananas in it too! I ALWAYS told them to just hold the bananas and add extra frozen yogurt.)

A blend of:

Nonfat Frozen Yogurt

Chocolate Moo’d Base

Soymilk

Ice

Bananas

Peanut Butter

Healthified Jamba Juice Peanut Butter Moo'd Smoothie

*1.5 scoops of protein powder (I used Vanilla Cream EAS Lean 15)

*A swirl, not too much, of Whipped Cream; about 1-2 Tbsp  (I used Lucerne’s Whipped Topping with the red cap)

Load the ingredients in your blender and mix until you get your desired texture.

    1. I’ve been off the smoothie train for like a month. It’s just too cold here for me to get in the mood for them! But this one sounds delicious. Anything with White Chocolate Wonderful is a winner.

    1. I bought white chocolate wonderful yesterday and I love it which is great since I’m typically not crazy about pb. I wanna try the dark choc too.

      1. Yes, White Chocolate Wonderful is so good, it’s the perfect blend. The dark chocolate PB is really good too. I like that whole line, glad Piks introduced me to it.
