*Cue Usher.* If you’ve been lurking on the blog you might’ve noticed that I’ve posted about hair. And beauty. But not too much about health and fitness. And the short response to that is because there hasn’t been much health and fitness going on in my life.
Since the day before Christmas Eve, I’ve worked out a handful of times, most of them easy swims at my gym pool. I have plenty of reasons (read: excuses). I’ve been overwhelmed with work and starting a new job, it’s dark…all.the.time., and lastly the POLAR VORTEX.So, working out has been sporadic and my meals have been a mix of not healthy at all and semi-healthy frozen meals. BUT, I have a plan to get back on track. My goal is to follow Fitnessista’s Winter Shape Up (for the third time! There’s still time to join!!). And the awesome part about this is that it also comes with a meal plan this year. A big part of feeling my best means cooking as many meals as possible at home, so I hope to get back on track with that.
However, the main component of my plan to get back into the groove is to be kind to myself. Every effort that I make towards being healthier counts, and every slip up is okay. Letting go of food and exercise guilt is one of the best things you can do for your body and mind, so I am actively working on that every day.
