Stitch Fix, May 2016

Stitch Fix Review: May 2016

Happy Fashion Friday friends!  I know we’re already well in to June but I figured I’d share my May fix with you anyway. For May’s Stitch Fix review I’m linking up with Maria from crazytogether.com.  Maria posts monthly about what she receives in her Fixes and I love the idea of this link-up!  If you head on over to her blog you will see numerous posts from other bloggers reviewing their Fixes and hopefully that will help you get ideas/start pinning if you sign up for your own Stitch Fix!  Don’t know what Stitch Fix is?  Check out this in-depth post where I give you all the details!

Without further ado, here’s what I received from my awesome stylist, Kaitlin (Hi Kaitlin!), in my May Fix:

Papermoon “Hitomi Peplum Top” ($44.00) – Returned

IMG_0112I liked this top okay but the color was a very deep burnt orange which screamed fall to me instead of summer.

Gilli “Delphine Jersey Romper” ($68.00) -Returned

IMG_0110I had a tough time deciding on this one.  It was a lot more flattering in person that it looks in the photo and so comfortable; felt like I was wearing pajamas.  I decided not to keep it because I mostly only like sleeveless or short sleeve rompers for summer and the material was a bit too clingy.  I have three rompers in my closet that I absolutely love, so I passed on this one.

Toms “Jutti Chambray Flats” ($84.00) – Returned

I pinned these flats and requested them from Kaitlin because they looked so cute! I was looking for a more neutral flat (but not black or navy) that I could wear casually and to work on days I don’t see clients.  I decided not to keep these for a couple of reasons.  First, I thought $84 was pretty steep for flats, even for Toms and I could probably find a similar pair for cheaper at Nordstrom Rack.  Also, these were sent in a size 6 because they were out of my usual size of 6.5 and they were just too small.

Street Level “Mckay”  Fringe Detail Tote ($64.00) – Returned

I didn’t get a pic of the bag, sorry! I’ve been looking for a basic, black tote for a long time.  This one was ultimately just too big for daily use and I’m not a fan of fringe.  I may have to bite the bullet and get one from Madewell.

Collective Concepts “Ali V-Neck Dress” ($78.00) – Kept

This dress was an instant keeper.  The bright blue is gorgeous and florals add pretty detail.  This dress hits above the knee and will be perfect to wear all summer long.  The material is very light weight; this dress could be worn as a cover up too!  I have nothing else like this in my closet.

So, I only kept 1 out of 5 things but it was still a great Fix! Kaitlin always listens to my requests but as I mentioned previously I’ve been getting fixes for so long now that I’m much more discerning about what I keep.  I hope you enjoyed seeing May’s Stitch Fix and be on the lookout for June’s very soon!
