Last Weeks Workouts Vol. 5

Happy Monday!! It’s been a LONG while (almost two years!!) since I’ve done a “Last Weeks Workouts” post.  My routine has definitely changed since 2015 and I wanted to share with you what a typical week looks like now!

Sunday: OFF

Monday:  Orangetheory.  This class was a 3G (three group, which means you end up spending about 15 minutes at each station before switching — treadmill, rower and floor/weights).  Monday was strength day, which is my favorite!

Tuesday: Steady state cardio and strength.  My husband and I joined our local YMCA, since it’s so close to our new place.  This was our first formal workout there and it was pretty crowded.  I don’t know what it is about going to a new gym — even though I’ve been going to various gyms and fitness studios for many years, I always get a little intimated when trying to figure out the lay of the land in a new place.  Anyone else?  Anyway, I got about 20 minutes of cardio in on the spin bike while listening to a podcast before completing one round of the strength exercises in Fitnessista’s lift and row workout.

Wednesday: Orangetheory 3G — Wednesday’s class was endurance/strength/power.  A little bit of everything! 

Thursday:  OFF

Friday: Orangetheory.  Friday’s class was another strength day!

Saturday:  OFF

What I Liked About This Week:  I got in a good combination of cardio and strength, which is easy to do with three Orangetheory workouts.  I also got in some quality rest days.  I’m trying to minimize rest days to twice a week, but three is fine too!

What Needs Improvement:  I’m still struggling to find a way to add flexibility into my routine.  I would love to be able to make it to a yoga class at least once a week.  Also, since we’re members of the YMCA now, I would like to add swimming back into my routine as well — weekly or bi-weekly would be ideal.
